Is the battery removable? Best tip (if not) is to put it inside an ice chest, and put that in your car or refrigerator, then try to go back to sleep once the adrenaline rush subsides.

Unfortunately I was unable to reach it so I just stayed awake and eventually maintenance came for a visit and they replaced the battery and reset it.
